Sonia studied architecture in the UK and is a member of Portugal's Architecture Registration Board. She has with absolute commitment to deliver cutting edge projects within budget and timeline by believing that both the Client and the Project are the number one priority.  

She has international work experience which varies from the UK, Australia and the Middle East.

In Melbourne Sonia worked on the architecture of high end residential projects.

In Dubai whilst working at Woods Bagot Architects as a Design Architect she won an architectural competition to which she proposed the Concept Design for a tower in Abu Dhabi. She followed that project as Lead Design Architect whilst working on several other projects. 

A few years later she moved to Kaan Finch as Team Leader for a 97,000sqm development in Abdali, Amman.
 
She was a frequent guest critic at the School of Design and Architecture at the American University in Sharjah for final year students whilst living in Dubai.

For the year of 2008 she was on the Board of Directors of the aaUAE, the Architectural Association of the United Arab Emirates.

Her work and contributions have been quoted and published in magazines in the UK and in the UAE, these include the Architect´s Journal, AD Design Through Making, VIVA magazine , South African Home Owner and Emirates Woman.

She has been a TV guest to talk about architecture on the show “Her Say" for the Dubai One TV channel in the UAE. 
 
She later opened her own atelier in Dubai with which her list of private clients include the luxury brand Hermes.

Sonia Macedo Architecture and Interior Design then moved to London.

During 2013 she was Interiors Lead running a London based team for a high profile hospitality Hotel / Gold Course project in Qatar of 11,000sqm for John McAslan and Partners, London.

Sonia then held the position of Head of Architecture and Interior Design at Sedley Place, London.
